Greetings,
Welcome to the New Bethel Baptist Church Sankofa Saturday Freedom School mailing list. If you are receiving this email, you have either attended one of the sessions or inquired about what we are offering. We are so excited to provide this much needed resource to our community. We appreciate your being a part of this opportunity as we grow together in sharing more about our Pan-African history and culture.
As we share with the community, we are thankful to have as our session leader and instructor, Dr. Ingrid Whitaker, who is a Tenured Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice at Old Dominion University. In addition to teaching in the Sociology Department, Dr. Whitaker also teaches in the African-American Studies Program. We are blessed to have such talent in our mist.
Please find attached the course outline which you should bring to each session. We will use this mailing list to send any additional documents, videos, or other materials, as well as, any updates, or special announcements.
Therefore, we look forward to seeing you on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month at 10am. Breakfast will be served prior to the start of our sessions.
Again, we welcome you to our learning and sharing community and we thank you for being a part of the New Bethel Baptist Church Sankofa Saturday Freedom School.
